The Colorado Mesa University Disc Golf Club was founded in 2017. With founding members being; Aaron Gossage, Jacob Payer, Landen Fledderjohn, and Nick Anderson. These four established the club as being one of the best from the get go. Finishing 17th out of 35 in their first year, the Colorado Mesa University Disc Golf Club continued to improve. The following year the Club jumped to 11th out of 36, and sporting their first all American in Laden Fledderjohn. Looking to fight for a National Championship on 2020 with all four player returning, their chances disappeared in early March because of the Covid-19 pandemic. With three of the four team members graduating that year, the club looked to the future with many new members going because of the pandemic. Going from five members to over twelve in one year. With the news that eligibility would extend an extra year for any 2020 graduates, the Colorado Mesa University Disc Golf Club was ecstatic. However, a key player had become ineligible. Aaron Gossage was pushing his game to new heights and had become a PDGA Premier Pro During the summer. The Colorado Mesa University Disc Golf Club sported three teams for the 2021 National Championship. Laden Fledderjohn earned another All-American honor, but the team finish had dropped to 31st out of 36. Which brings us to today. A new group of players have risen from the ashes and triumphs of their alumni, striving to accomplish the impossible with a National Championship win to make their predecessors proud.
