This past weekend University of Wisconsin Whitewater traveled two teams to Madison, Wisconsin to take on the Badgers. Whitewater’s A team was able to dominate the matchup enough to take the win even with Madison’s B team easily defeating Whitewater’s B team. For the two A teams, it was a close match through 12 holes. Tied after twelve, Whitewater turned up the heat and won three straight holes. After this, Madison was only able to win 1 more hole on the 27 hole format. Whitewater’s A team went on to win 33 holes to 21. The B team competition was a different story. Whitewater’s B team only won 3 holes during the 27 hole format, while Madison won 11 of the holes. Unfortunately, the ground made up from the B teams were not enough to make up the difference from the A teams. Once all the tied holes were tallied up the final score of the match ended at Whitewater: 42.5 holes and Madison: 38.5 holes. Certainly a close matchup that will bring upon a rivalry in the conference for years to come.
